Thanks for that Patrish. I dont think the Northumberland one is her as she was born in Lichfield around 1769. She had children Thomas, Hugh, William and Jane. There could be some variation on the spelling of Bailye/Bailey. Other areas associated with her in Stafford are Bilston and Bradley - but Lichfield seemed to be the most likely.

Could anyone be so kind as to look up 1841 Lichfield census for Isabella Bailye/Bailey please? I think she would be in her early 70's and quite possibly a widow. Thanks in advance.

Hi Gordon

Thanks for that look up, but unfortunately I don't think thats them as by 1841 they had (I think) a daughter Mary, born circa 1825 and a son, Samuel born 1832 in Salop.

I wont discount that entry though as the info I have on them pre 1851 is very patchy.

Thanks again

I would be very grateful if anyone could look up Thomas Bailey and family on the 1841 census for Bilston. He would be aged approximately 40 and married to Ann who would be aged approximately 35.

Thanks in anticipation,

Ali

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Census Westbury - Spicer

Thanks for those two records Lloydy. Both fit into my tree. Catherine aged 65 is my GGGGG grandmother, and it looks like Edward in the first return is one of her sons. I more or less have the direct Spicer line traced now. However, the Middle family is proving a little more elusive!

Thanks again

I think Shropshire Archives hold Madeley, Dawley and Stirchley Roman Catholic parish registers (1804 - 2002)

Best wishes

Shropshire Lookup Requests / 1841/1851 census - Lilleshall - Ball family
« on: Thursday 21 September 06 18:35 BST (UK)  »
Id be really grateful if someone could look up 1841/51 census return details for Richard Ball and his family. Richard was born circa 1808 in Lilleshall, and had two sons that I know of (there could be other siblings) Richard Ball b.1841 Lilleshall and William Ball b.1845 Lilleshall.

I assume the family would be listed as living in Lilleshall, but could also be the surrounding area eg. St Georges, Wrockwardine Wood etc.

Many thanks in anticipation,
Ali
