I don't know very much about my father's family.  He was from Lanarkshire and I know my grandmother had a lot of brothers and no sisters.  My brother Bob was born in England.  I was born in Calgary and live now in Milk River, southern Alberta.  My grandmother passed away in Swift Current, Saskatchewan in either late 1964 or early 1965.  Mom and Dad passed away in the 1990's and were cremated.  I still have their ashes as I have been wanting to visit Scotland and Wales for some time.  They never returned and I want to take some ashes back to scatter.  I would like learn more about dad's family and where they all went.  Thank's for getting in touch so quickly.  Lesley

There is also a marriage of Alexander Sawers to Constance Williams, September quarter 1942, Surrey North Eastern, Surrey

And a birth of Alexander R J Sawers (mother's maiden name Williams), June quarter 1946, Surrey North Western, Surrey

Alexander did join the Canadian military to fight in WWII and it looks like Constance was a war bride. I have found an entry in the outgoing passenger list database at Find My Past which lists Constance Sawers and her son, Alexander R.J. Sawers (5 months) on a list entitled "Canadian Wives' Bureau - Civilian Repatriation Notice". Alexander isn't mentioned by name but it gives his Regiment Number and Rank (M24041, Sgt) and the address in Canada listed was Mrs. M. Sawers (mother in law), 703 8th Ave W, Calgary, Alberta. The only date listed is 1946.

Thanks Jacquie,

I have emailed and asked them if they could help me find where Alexander and constance were buried. I am a little confused, see on Dawns obituary, the one that passed away in 2009. was she Alexander and Constances daughter and who were Dawns brothers and sisters?

I found it confusing,

Gary
