Thank you, it does seem to fit dosnt it, naming his 1st son after his father as I doubt german buxton is an overly common name, also could fit in with my query that is my buxtons realted to the german buxton involved in the pentrich revolution

Hi, that musnt be my john then as if he was born 1816 he couldn't of married in 1825, I thought I had saved it from a census that he was born in 1816 in swanwick.

I have come across mention of a german buxton from swanwick before in previous posts who was born 1785 then sent to australia in 1818 for being involved in the pentrich revolution and was wondering if there could be a link to my john buxton born 1816 swanwick. I don't know who johns parents where but know he married a diana (possibly diana gent) and had 4 sons german buxton b1836 levi buxton b1841 nathan b1850 and henry b1853 all born ilkeston. Does anybody think there could be a link? Or know who johns parents may of been and maybe if his parents are on the 1841 census?
