Kent / Julia O'Brien Barming Hospital Maidstone.
« on: Monday 17 February 25 16:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I am after any info regarding the Barming Hospital in Barming Maidstone, I had a relative die there in 1933 due to Syphalitic Encephalitus, I wonder if this would of been a psychiatric hospital or a general hospital at this point, and would there be records available to view of her time there.
Thankyou

Hi Everyone,

My 3 x great grandmother Mary Murphy died in the Workhouse Infirmary, Brook Street, Lambeth, in 1885.
She lived at 9 Granby Buildings, Lambeth.

My questions are are there any records for patients at that time, and are there any photos of Granby Buildings.

Thankyou for any help

Do you have any birth certificates?
There are none with mothers maiden name Hendry listed, based on the names of the children in the census

The Julia child you mentioned, is part of my family, I just checked the RC baptisms, her parents were John and Mary Ann Hendry.
I'm guessing she died.

Good Morning,

John Murphy lived in Shoreditch with his family in 1851, he is a Silk Dyer, his wife Mary Anne nee Hendry was born in 1818, in St Lukes, Shoreditch, they married in 1837 at St Leonards, their children Thomas, Catherine, John and Mary Ann were born in Shoreditch, Daniel , the eldest was from Johns first marriage.

In 1861, John and Mary Ann are still in Shoreditch with their son John, though the other children are missing, and Daniels wife Bridget is there, with their newborn son John.

Daniel goes on to live in Peckham, later in life, thats where his offspring  settle, but I can't find John, the silk dyer or the children after 1861. the mother Mary Ann is in Peckham in 1881, but can't find her death.

Any help appreciated. Thankyou
