Thanks for all your help, you've offered a few possibilities that I will keenly explore.  Its only a small detail, but you never know what it may lead too.  Also, when you only have a few pieces of 'definate' info, its satisfying to know that at least you have them correct.
There was a place called Garryrua in Carrick -on-Suir its English translation is Red Garden Lane .I looked at 1911 and 1901 Census but couldn't find any of your names there.

Garraí Rua was the name of area within the town of Carrick-on-Suir.It means the Red Garden where there was blood shed in a battle .If you want to try to connect with people from Carrick-n-Suir I suggest that you have a look on Facebook,the site is called 'Things I miss about Carrick-on-Suir'
