Forfarian - if you're still around I'm back! The new FamilySearch online free tree-mapping tool is helpful. It's too bad I no longer have the free access to the ScotslandPeople records - there's a good bit of work I copied down but didn't save the source documents.

A few corrections -- it's Coatdyke, New Monkland, not New Maryland. It's Helen Thomson Russell, not Helen Thomas. The first Margaret died in 1861, not 1961. (My wife is a descendent of Helen Thomson Russell Black.)

John Russell b.25/2/1832 d.31/8/1899 married 20/7/1860 Coatdyke, new maryland,
Marion Russell (yes maiden name was the same)b.2/1/1840 d.19/2/1904

Their 7 children were :
Margaret b.4/1/1861 d.11/8/1961

Helen Thomas b.16/8/1863 married Andrew Black 7/3/1888

William b.17/1/1865 d.20/4/1939 (have birth certificate)

Margaret Wilson b.19/5/1867 d.1948 married 31/1/1894 James Black

John b.10/9/1869 m.6/1894 had daughter Louisa Mary

Marion b.5/5/1872 d.9/1/1919 never married but had son George Paterson Russell (my grandfather) b.12/1/1901. His father was John Paterson who we believe also lived in the Caledonian buildings in Mossend.

Robert b.3/7/1875 d.13/2/1946 m.9/3/1900 Grace Bulloch - had daughter Harriet Lamb.

I know info from Helen Thomson, William and Marion but not really the others. Have birth certificates from Marion and William and know where they were born, lived, worked, died and are buried.

Have hit a brick wall with the rest, can anyone help me ?

Forfarian -- my wife's mother is a Storry from Scotland -- the Storry's at Stoneheap Farm are her cousins. (Her lineage is John, James Thornton, John, John, John, John,William, Andrew.) It's quite remarkable learning that her great-great-grandfather had a second family (the Stewarts).

One thing we noted -- the family name is Glaud with a "G", not Claud.

Did I read correctly that you found a deeper ancestor than Andrew Storry (c. 1670) of Wester Bracco?
