Thank you everyone for your help...I am very excited to study this new information...

... but is it the correct family? please give us any details you've already found and let us know exactly what you are looking for if you need further help.
So sorry, yes it is the right family.  George and Rebecca (buried in Nova Scotia)  Their son, Joseph, is my great grandfather and is buried in the same cemetary in Halifax.  His son, Arthur, is my grandfather and moved to Ontario, Canada in the early 1900's.  I am amazed at the speed with which you can access this information.  Thnk you again.

George Matson, originally from Cork Ireland ( I hope), buried in Nova Scotia, Canada.  My GG grandfather was Joseph Matson (b1865, Nova Scotia) married to Emma Flynn and passed in 1912.  I am keen to learn of the Matson lineage and am hopeful to find more information from the other members of this site.  Thank you

The Common Room / Re: What Country is your research ?

My research has led me to Ireland.  I am a descendant of Joseph Matson whose father, George Matson, left Ireland for Canada. I attempted this search several years ago but gave up, fustrated by my inability to dig up any info, but thanks to the ever growing 'net', that has all changed.  I live in Canada and am thrilled to have found this site.
