Thanks for your reply. The lady in Raines Lane would have been Arthur's wife, Beatrice. Their son, Colin is my Dad's cousin and he did indeed run The Dalesman cafe at Gargrave.

I have also come across some things about Jack Chapman, courtesy of Pam Blagden - photos and letters on cpgw.org. - I think this would have been Kit's son. Died during WW1.

I will keep an eye out for further posts,

I think that Arthur Chapman was my grandmother's brother. My grandmother was Dora Chapman, born in Grassington in 1910.

Hi, my grandmother was Dora Chapman. Her grandfather was Kit Chapman who ran the bus service in Grassington. My grandmother's brother was Arthur Chapman who lived in Raines Lane with his wife Beatrice. I have some old pictures of the family outside Church House on a vehicle. Will post them once I've worked out how to do it! If you're interested that is? :)
