« on: Friday 30 January 15 12:07 GMT (UK)  »
hello to all. my g/father  robert bentley harrop served in the RN from 1902 to 1915 (he was a signalman).he was discharged in 1915 (he had an astigmatism).today on ancestry have found a robert bentley harrop medal roll saying he was in the 12th leicester regiment and the 8th south staffs regiment, the reason i think its him because he lived in newcastle under lyme staffs till he died in 1962.do you think it could be him?

Technical Help / Re: Need Boot Disk Windows Vista Home Premium
« on: Friday 16 August 13 16:34 BST (UK)  »
hi victoria what boot sequence means is what starts up first when pc starts up.  on your laptop you probably have a cd drive a hard drive (where vista is installed) the ethernet port is where you put your cable to connect to internet. looks like it was not set up to start from hard drive. what you have to do is hit delete on keyboard when laptop starts. you will be presented with a list ,at the top one should say boot. press enter you will get boot priority at the top, press enter. should have a list of boot priority 1,2 and 3.   do this then send me a message back

Staffordshire / john bloor the lamb inn and clockmaker
« on: Thursday 15 August 13 17:50 BST (UK)  »
hi my grandfather from way back was an innkeeper & clockmaker (john bloor 1780-?). he had his inn (the lamb) and clock business running from same location 31 high st newcastle under lyme. have found records (from ancestry) that he ran the lamb from at least 1818 until 1842.  on 1842 records listed the lamb inn as damaged and it was not on 1843 records. john then became a beer retailer in shelton. does anybody know what happened to the lamb and what year john died? regards nick
