Hi Dawn,

Many thanks for the very fast reply to my query, granted it was not the answer that I was expecting or wanted for that matter, but it does help alot.

I will now attempt to find her through the means that you have indicated.

Again, my grateful thanks

Rutland / Missing Lamb Child

Hello Everyone, Happy New Year.

I have a difficult one here that I hope someone can help me with.

I have just discovered from one of my sisters that we had another sister who was "Still Born".

She doesn't know the child's name nor the actual DOB / DOD. The only thing that she can tell me is that she was born between my two sisters in Oakham, Rutland.  One other piece of info is that she was buried with someone else. she doesn't know who or why.

The info she as provided me means a few questions...

Who was she?
Who was she buried with?
Why was she buried with someone else?
Was it common practice to bury two people together?

I have tried searching with the info and knowledge that I have but have so far failed, hence I am requesting this help.

If you can help. We will be eternally gratefull to you.

My sisters where born in *1964 in Singapore and * 1966 in Oakham, Rutland *

I have tried "Find my Past" but I couldn't find anything at all.

Please help if you can.

Many thanks in advance

Lancashire / Railway Records
« on: Monday 16 January 06 20:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

I was informed some time ago when I first started the family history game, that the records for the railways had not been destroyed and that it was possible to access them to find out about people in that industry.

As a great number of my family appear to have worked there way up to Train drivers, I thought that I may find info on them in these records.  However, the person that told me this as left the area and as yet cannot be contacted...........any pointers would be nice ;D

You know the sort of info I am after, name, number, wage etc etc.

Please help

Many Thanks

Lancashire / 3 Killed in Fire - Looking for info please
« on: Thursday 05 January 06 15:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

I am hoping that some kind person out there can help me with this.

I am trying to find out the circumstances etc of how three members of my family where killed in a fire at "13 Warren Street, Thornton in Fylde".

There names are ....

Thomas Bamber (5)
John Bamber (2)
Jannet Bamber (1)

I have tried the local press etc, but have received nothing that would give me any clues as to what happened etc.  Some of the local papers have checked there records but have found nothing which I find hard to believe, as a fire with three child deaths,as now, would be news material

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Many Thanks

in advance

Hi Joseephine,

Thanks for the additional info, I will give it a try and see what comes of it.

I have his date of death came from my mother and I am waiting to find out how she knows this.  I had better explain, my parents got divorced when I was young my sisters went with my mother and I had to go with my dad......so when I have a conversation with her, because she remarried, it is through one of my sisters, so it takes a while.   ::)
