Derry (Londonderry) / Need help for Faughanvale Parish
« on: Tuesday 09 August 05 18:10 BST (UK)  »
I have heard that there exists a book called, The Meeting House at Tullanee available at Familybooks, Speres (sp) Mall in Belfast.  The book is supposedly a history of the Faughanvale Presbyterian Church on Killylane Road , Eglinton.

I am also trying to locate the 1803 Faughanvale local census, which I have also heard exists.

Apologies if I have messed up the geography.  It's rather hard to picture the lay of things from a distance.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Family of interest:  GILFILLAN

Donegal / GILFILLAN, VANCE in Momeen, Taughboyne Parish

Looking for George Gilfillan, possibly born in Derry, but found on the Griffith's Valuation of 1857 in Momeen, parish of Taughboyne on the Abercorn estate.  He married Sarah Vance also of Momeen.  Her parents are Robert Vance and Mary Allison.

I would like to find George Gilfillan's parents and the births of his children, especially of his son, Alexander.  I believe, but can't prove it, that George Gilfillan is connected with the Ballinamore Gilfillans of Faughanvale, in Derry Co.

There are other Gilfillans in Taughboyne, but I am unsure of their connection.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Derry (Londonderry) / CANNING in Tobermore and Dungiven, WILSON in Macknagh,
« on: Saturday 06 August 05 14:34 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I've hit a brick wall in my research of Robert Canning, sexton of the Kilcronaghan parish church through much of the latter half of the 19th century.
His wife was Mary Wilson, daughter of Andrew Wilson of Macknagh in Maghera.
Canning's father was Henry of Dungiven.

Any tips would be most gratefully appreciated.

Donegal / Re: Looking for McClintock's

Hello, I found Daniel McClintock and David McClintock in Ardagh in the parish of Taughboyne, co. Donegal.  David is letting 33 acres from the Marquis of Abercorn in 1857.  Good luck.
