One of my great, great, great grandfather's name was Robert Riley, born about 1816, in or in the vicinity of Simonstone, Lancashire, England. It appeared that his wife was Jane Metcalf, born about 1817 in, (or in the vicinity) of Read, Lancashire.

They had five children of record.

James Riley, born about 1845 at Read, Lancashire (my great, great grandfather),
Rebecca, born about 1849, Read, Lancashire, England
Robert Riley, born about 1849, Padiham, Lancashire, England
Elizabeth Riley, born about 1853, St John's, Preston, Lancashire, England
Mary Riley, dob unknown.

James Riley was married to Mary Ann Robinson (my great, great grandmother);
They moved to Hanover, Jamaica, WI, perhaps during the 1870s. I have no information about Mary Ann's parents, siblings or grandparents. I have reason to speculate, however, that she was born in Leeds, Lancashire.

If  your family name is Robinson and or Riley, connected to Jamaica and/or Lancashire; or if you have either of these names in your genealogical chart, there is a probability that we might be related. Hence, I would like to make contact with you, as I probe for answers about the ancestry of Mary Ann Robinson, in particular.

Hi Heather: the census data you presented seem accurate; James Riley and Mary Ann Robinson were married most likely in Lancashire; and moved to Jamaica, WI as a young couple, where they had their children; I cannot find any supporting marriage or immigration records however. hence, inconclusive, as to whether or not the were married in Jamaica, Lancashire or in some other county in the UK.

Hi: My paternal, maternal, maternal, paternal great great, great grand father's name was Robert Riley of Preston, I believe.  One of his son's, my great, great grandfather, James Riley of Read, married my great, great grand mother, Mary Ann Robinson of Liverpool, perhaps. I have no information on   Mary Ann Robinson's parents.
James Riley and Mary Ann Robinson migrated to Jamaica between 1860 and 1882 and resided in the parish of Hanover.

If you believe that there is a chance that we might be related or if any one else has any further info about Robert Riley's descendants and or Mary Ann Robinson ancestry, I would be delighted to do some cross references with you.
