Family History Beginners Board / Elisabeth Haddin or Hadden born Maxwell
« on: Monday 18 May 20 04:01 BST (UK)  »
Looking for information on Elizabeth Maxwell who married John Haddin in Glasgow Scotland in April 1797 and had Margaret Haddin or Hadden the following year.  Margaret Haddin married Angus Allison and they migrated to Australia in 1830. Would love to know when Elisabeth was born and who her parents were.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for those contact details I will chase them up.  My father gave it up as a lost cause years ago but recently he told me about it and I have started to make enquiries again as I would like to try and recover it for my father.  I don't know who those Lamberts are you mentioned I am a greart granddaughter of Charles and Mary Ann Lamberts youngest son Hanham who went to Australia. Are you referring to Bertram  and Fenton's descendants? Thanks dpaton

New Zealand Completed Requests / Charles Arundel Lambert

I am looking for any information on a sword and scabbard with the inscription :-
"PRESENTED BY MAJOR GENERAL THE RIGHT HONble LORD FREDERICK FITZCLARENCE G.C.H. TO CHARLES LAMBERT LIEUT. & ADJUTANT 62 REGT.1848".  Charles Lambert was my great great grandfather. The sword was stolen from the home in Hamilton, New Zealand, of my father's cousin, Mrs Joy Barrett, in April 1993.  Hoping that after all these years it may turn up somewhere or someone has seen it.  I would love to be able to return it to my father who it rightly belongs to.

Looking for information on William Colton who married Elizabeth in 1743 and produced Sarah born 1755 who married William Appleby and produced Maria Appleby who was baptised in 1787.  Maria Appleby had an illegitimate son who was christened as Charles Arundel born 1809.. Maria was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalene.  There is a family story that Charles had an uncle Thomas who worked or lived on the fens in Lincolnshire maybe in Boston or was a bog collector. Any new information would be greatly appreciated. dpaton

Lanarkshire / Re: Ann Robertson convict
« on: Friday 07 September 18 09:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi Lodger,  Thanks for that information interesting that her age is put at 23 younger than I thought was reported on her Australian records.  Where do I go to research this info further to find out if it is the same Ann Robertson who arrived in Australia on the Janus in 1820. Dpaton
