Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone could help me find a possible date for this photograph? I received new informations lately on who it might be and I would like to know if this could be them.

I am thinking this might be my great great grandparents with their 4 eldest children. There is only one other known image of them and it is a drawing so it's kinda hard to compare. A drawing doesn't reflect the exact reality.

I am thinking : Philippe Bergeron (1863-1908) and wife Olivine Marier (1866-1911). The four eldest children :
1. Horace born January 1st 1895
2. Alice born January 17th 1897. Alice have a crooked neck and it seems to me that the little girl's neck sitting at the front does seem odd.
3. Frédeline born December 2nd 1897
4. Marie-Rose born April 7th 1899

The fifth kid was born June 8th 1900. Could the mother on this photograph be pregnant? If so that would put the photograph in 1900 (only guessing here), the children being 5, 3, 2 and 1...

Is the little girl older than her brother? In that case, that would change everything.

It appears to be a cardbord (?). There is nothing on the back.

Thank you all!

Lisa, you are absolutely right.

The man was a farmer, built his own farm, house, etc. He started from zero in a small village where there wasn't much when he arrived.

As for the little girl, I did notice her eye. I asked around in the family but no luck.

Thank you

Thank you Carol and Peter. The picture looks so much better without the fading.

Does anyone has an idea of the year this was taken?

Thank you. It could be John after all.

The 1st. 2 were taken around the same time so not the same person.
They are very typically early - mid Edwardian.

Thank you Jim, I am not sure very familiar with Edwardian era. Could you tell me what years approximatively the photos were taken?

Thank you McGroger. I am thinking it could be John or brother Paul. It appears curious to me that a married man would be photographed on his own and not with his wife and family. Any thoughts?

Hello again,

I was recently given these two cabinet cards of unknown relatives. Both pictures were taken in Nicolet, Québec (Canada). I would really appreciate if someone could help me date the pictures to help me identify the people.

1. I have no idea who the family is. The photographer is P. A. Papillon and worked in Nicolet, Québec. There is nothing on the back of the picture (plain black).

2. I am hoping the gentleman could be either John Bergeron (1867-1937) or his brother Paul (1870-1941). John married young, had many children. His wife died in 1918. Paul never married and we don't have a picture of him so far. I am attaching a picture of John when he was older to compare with the unidentified man. There is nothing on the back of the picture except a tiny fading red stamp of the photographer's name.

Thank you so much,
Ancestrologie

Hello,

I was recently given this cabinet card of my third great grandmother Desanges Désilets (1831-1906). This picture was taken in Nicolet, Québec (Canada) by A. D. Nourry. I wasn't able to find much information on that photographer online except that he worked in Nicolet.

Desange's husband died in 1891 so I am thinking this photograph was taken somewhere between 1891 and 1906. Considering her age, I'm thinking more 1891-1895. Could this be a mourning portrait?

I am pretty sure this is a cabinet card. There is nothing on the back.

Thank you for any help,
Ancestrologie
