Good news I'm pretty sure I found one of his brothers who is Eric Lee born 18 February 1913 and died 30 December 1994 as the photo that I found is very simular in looks and have some resembulances. thank you for all your help. I have been able to get in contact with Keith's (Ronald's brother)grandchild and they also cannot find information due to a lot of confusion with their father name. He is on the understanding that their mother used her surname of Makin and that she died in childbirth and the boy was called Eric Lee who was registered with only the fathers name. All too confusing and a lot of headaches 
Have found out that two of Ronald's brothers names were Keith and Charlie but apparently one of Ronald's brothers changed his name and I am hoping that it wasn't Keith or Charlie as there was quite a few brothers and sisters.
Thank you Jorose this is correct she did marry a William Bird and I thought the same thing about the town of Hopetoun in Victoria too, maybe he grew up there or like you said used the name after Earl Hopetoun.
I know that Joseph George Fubbs is a different person and it definitely is Joseph William Fubbs. Unfortunately it looks like he has gone of the grid maybe he used a different name which could be possible giving that he already had done this.
Mariona Congratulations on becoming a Great Granny. Hi Neil. I have no idea if this is the same person. It is very frustrating 
trying to do the research. It is known that Ronald came from Chinese but it is also thought that he was aboriginal decent too? Unsure of where to go from here.
