World War Two / Re: WW2 enlistment Frank Woodward

Hi buzz by
My mum is Annie's daughter, Margery Woodward, who was brought up at hicks lane by Harry and Alice Woodward, in place of their stillborn twin. She lived there until 1946.
She remembers Albert and Phyllis (had a sister Gladys mee and family lived in New England, Peterborough). Albert and Phyllis lived in woot ton ave, old fletton but then got house in spencer ave, stanground Peterborough which is where they were living in 1951.
I was born at hicks lane in 1951  :)
Mum recalls going to visit Phyllis at spencer ave when she was about 7mths pregnant and was painting kitchen ceiling!
Should now be able to personal message in future. All best. Whitehead85  :)

Hi buzz by
Mum very keen to help and has prompted us to set about recording her memories of Woodward family digitally this next weekend. She has mentioned gran and grandad kids names as Arthur, Beatrice, Alice (twin with a stillborn), Albert, dolly, Mary, Harriet, Annie, frank, Charlie, bill (Harry). I remember some of these when I was growing up.
She thinks Albert had 3 children. Can you remind her of names?
All very exciting!
Kind regards

Hi
Current publicity about Dambusters anniversary prompted my mother today to talk about her Uncle Frank who was a lancaster gunner and was lost in 1944 on a mission out of Binbrook. I got to work on the web.  A phone chat I've had with her tonight about your posts leads us to think he was your great uncle - there are lots of matches between your info and her memory/family records.

My mum grew up as a woodward born 15 years after her uncle Albert (middle name after a French battle!) and lived at Hicks Lane. She remembers uncle Bill in Australia (Harry?) and is excited at tonight's find going through your posts.

Do you still have gaps on the Woodward/German sides that we can help with? :)
