German genealogists mostly communicate through mailing lists, which are organised by regions. Many of these mailing lists are multilingual. You find the list of mailing lists here: http://list.genealogy.net/mm/listinfo/, look out for "bilingual" in the list description.

A good start for research in Germany is the English language version of the "GenWiki"; you find it here: http://wiki-en.genealogy.net/Main_Page

Hi, you posted your search a long time ago, did you find your answer? If not, here it is:
http://www.gahetna.nl/collectie/index/nt00342/02827d28-71be-102d-a0ea-005056a23d00/view/NT00342_dopen/sort_column/prs_achternaam_dopeling_dopen/sort_type/asc/q/zoekterm/Susanna%20Catharina%20Wohlfahrt/q/comments/1

and Susanna's ancestors:
http://www.mijnstambomen.nl/leiden/hoij.htm#BM_TOTAAL_5_141425_0198422
VIII.12 David De Hoij
VII.33 Carel De Hoij

Now that gave you the hints on your ancestors, I would be interested in the descendants. Are you aware that you have a famous ancestor?

Kind regards,
MariaSibylla
