Oh hang sorry,  he was Roman Catholic.
I've spent a wee bit of time looking at Bridget, trying to work out who her husband was.
No luck so far. I'll do what you've suggested and see how I get on..thanks

Hi, thanks for your interesting reply.
Arthur Hughes was a stonemason. On his death cert it stated labourer but on Scottish records he was either labourer or stonemason and def same man. So, I'm wondering if Bridget was his dgt in law and one of Arthur sons was also stonemason.
I'll look into that. I note you saying church of Ireland kept records. I may have to accept I'll not find graves but be happy knowing where they came from.
Thanks

Louth / Graveyards Dundalk
« on: Thursday 03 April 25 11:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi, as I'm coming over to area soon ,I'd love to know if there's burial records in Dundalk area. I'm looking for Arthur Hughes died Dundalk 1867. His wife Bridget Roddy died bit later,.maybe 1871.
He would have been about 80 years old.
I have no problem going somewhere to look up records myself. Just don't think I'd have the time to search all the graveyards!
Thanks

Hi, oh I need to visit.
I had a look for a Marsh House pub and last mention I see is 2013 when someone stole from there.
I'm unable to read article from newspaper either .
Thanks

Hi, I have another Hughes query. I'm dna matched to Peter Hughes b1857. Married to Margaret Lyons. On the 1901 census he is described as "publican living next door to public house" . This is Marsh Street, Drogheda. So, I'm wondering what the pub is/was called.
Is it Mother Hughes? That's on my visit list for a Guinness.  I think the story about Mother Hughes involved the owner going to America.
Anyway, if there's 2 pubs to visit all the better !
