Thanks Sancti.

Do you have a connection with the Cleghorns?

Many thanks for the quick reply. Do you also have the details for the Robb & Gibb headstone?

Many thanks for the burial register entries, the first of which is definately a direct link for me.

Do you have any clue what Fashoud refers to in the second burial register entry that you provided?

Best regards,

Andy

Lanarkshire / Re: Cleghorn-Gray Births/Marriages - can anyone help?

Hi All,

Sorry to jump on this fairly old thread, but I've only just discovered RootsChat.

My great-grandfather was James Cleghorn Robb b. abt 1887 possibly in Bothwell in Scotland.

His parents were James Robb & Ellen (aka Nellie) Wilson.

James' (Senior) parents were Andrew Robb & Margaret Cleghorn, so it seems James (Junior) got his middle name from his grandmother's maiden name.

Andrew & Margaret were married on 3 Aug 1845 in Bothwell.  I guess Margaret could have been the brother of the Jno Cleghorn mentioned in the 1871 census information that Ruskie has previously posted.

Does anyone have anything that may confirm this?

Best Regards,

Andy

Hi Lodger,

I'm new to RootsChat so don't seem to be able to send pm yet.

Am interested in the details on the following headstones:

MUIR, HASTIE & CLEGHORN
SMELLIE & CLEGHORN

and

ROBB & GIBB

My great grandfather was James Cleghorn ROBB b. abt. 1887 (possibly in Bothwell).

His grandmother was Margaret CLEGHORN b. ?? in Cambusnethan, Margaret married Andrew ROBB in Bothwell on 3 Aug 1845.

Grateful for your help.

Best Regards,

Andy Smith
