Hi Annie,

Thank you ever so much for all this research, I greatly appreciate all the time you have put into this.
London appears to be very far away from my points of research as people don't appear to have moved very far from their roots back then (my experience). I will keep it all in mind and see if I can get anywhere with it. My problem is I have little or no information to go on except the church marriage and the few notes from an elderly cousin. I never knew this side of my family until fairly recent.

Thanks once again for all your help,
Maria

Sorry I forgot to copy Mary Gertrude Clark'd father is Georgii Goodger Clarke on record.
The surname should be Clark without an "E"
Mary Gertrude Clark is on the 1939 electoral rolls in Birmingham in 1939, that is where she was born in 1904

Many thanks for your help & interest

Hello & thank you very much for replying to my request.

I am trying to establish what Francis Farley was my aunt Mary Gertrude Clark's husband, and when he died so I can get the death certificate.

The only information I have is their RC church marriage record which states that they were married in Oxton, Birkenhead, Cheshire on the 2 Dec. 1939 and his parents were Thomas Farley & Mary Ann
(No mother's surname).

According to an elderly cousin "They were in Swansea in south Wales in 1946. I do not remember their address, though it was near the railway line down to the shore and I remember coal wagons going by. One day we went to Mumbles, in the Gower Peninsula, where I collected shells on the sandy beach".

Would this information be enough to be able to pin point in what area they lived?

The same cousin states that Francis died in the early 1950s perhaps in Ormskirk, Lancashire because he visited at least Mary Gertrude in this town in the early 1950s, he cant' remember if her husband was still alive. In a search on free bmd from 1945-1955, there are 5 Francis Farley, one at Ormskirk, Lancashire Sep. Q 1953 age 64, which I think would be the best match, however I can't find a Francis Farley born abt. 1888, 1899 son of a Thomas & Mary Ann. The only Thomas & Mary Ann Farley I found on the 1911 census are in Derby and they had only one living child Alice born abt. 1893. She is on the 1901 census.
I think if we could find Francis on the electoral rolls it might get me somewhere.

Sorry for the long rigmarole, any help at all would be greatly appreciated,
Maria

Hi, is there anyone on here who goes to Swansea archives? I am looking to find electoral rolls for Francis Farley & his wife Mary Gertrude Farley, she was also knows as "Pat" From 1940 to 1952.
It is almost certain that they where there in 1946 so that would be the best year to start with.
As I live abroad I can't go myself and I can't find them online anywhere.
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help out, greatly appreciated,
Kindest regards,

Maria

Thank you Ruskie & Carol you are so kind & helpful!
I will keep an open mind, I sent the wedding picture to this man's (last picture added) nephew in Australia to see if it could be his parents who married in Australia in 1937 however he said no, it's not, but he found a resemblance in the groom eyes with his father's?????

Thank you everyone for your help!
Oh what a big disappointment :(

Is there any resemblance between this last picture and the Bride on the first wedding picture????
Because this man had two sisters who were married in Manchester, one in 1927 & the other in 1928. :-\

These people are the grandchildren of my father's aunt and godmother at baptism!

I'm so sorry to be giving you so much trouble!
