Hi,

My grandfather was the butler to Sir John Stirling Maxwell at Pollok House and lived with my grandmother my Dad and 2 other sons in Shawmuir Cottage. They lived there until a good bit after after Sir John died.

Hi , My GGF , William Cowan, was the Clerk of Works and lived next cottage to the Vincents. Indeed, a Miss Vincent lived there when I visited Granny at Bankhead Cottage in the 70’s .

Regards Clark Ferguson

Not sure if you subscribe to Ancestry but there are a number of trees there suggesting that Isaac Bradburn married Catherine/Christiana Jarratt in 1811 but no source given.

Have found the following marriage in the Shropshire marriage index

6 July 1811 Broseley Isaac Bradbon  and Christiana Jarrett

Thanks for the information

Looks like we are related through Thomas Bradburn. Thomas had a son John (first marriage) , who married a Barrhead girl and started my mothers family tree

My father was brought up in Bankhead Cottage behind the plots. His Grandfather was Clerk of Works at Pollok House and moved into the cottage in 1905. He was a Joiner to trade. Prior to that it had been the estate laundry and then the estate armoury. My Grand Mother moved out in 1976.
