I have checked Edward as McMillan.  I have not checked the births for 1832. Don't think I found a registration for his birth in 1842.  Such a simple thought  1832 which might be the answer. 

Yet, if he was 8 in 1851 that makes the birth 1842.  I will look again

Edward Cook born 1842 Saddell/Skipness Parish. Mother Flora McMillan born 27.Sept 1815 Saddell/Skipness Parish.
Edward last known details: Census 1871 with Uncle Donald McMillan, at Low Airds, Carradale, Argyll. Mother died 01 Nov 1871 at 15 Glasgow St, Ardrossan, Ayrshire and Edward signed the Death Cert. He was named in a Paternity Case in Campbeltown, in 1872, as a Fish Buyer , Carradale. Case Ref SC50/5/1872/10.
He is not the Edward Cook of  Lesmahagow (Sc People) and I did not find him in any of the listed marriages in Sc People. Nor in immigration or other Census that I looked..

Any suggestions to continue searching for Edward is appreciated.

Hello Sandra,
Thank you for all the information you found for Duncan Hyndman. 

Cousin in Saskatchewan has been writing to the government and statistics for a Marriage Certificate many times and one person, lately,  was actually phoning  for questions and answers. In the end, this week, cousin asked for the last few months of 1922 to be checked and they have now found the marriage.  Waiting on copy in the mail. Sometimes it pays to" flog the dead horse" sorry not a very good saying but fits this subject. !!!

Hello Sandra,

thank you for your help with Duncan and Margaret. Often the Hyndman name has different spellings and that has also been tried.  Did not find them married in Ontario but shall try Ancestry in the Library for Ontario. Government records not helpful. !!!!

The present day family has no record of the marriage.

The Neil Currie you mentioned was not her brother.

Will keep trying different avenues.

Thank you for your reply re Duncan and Margaret. Bit of an enigma. 

They did marry but Margaret did not enjoy being in Saskatchewan. All the information about Duncan is known .

Margaret did have a sister married in Ontario, married name McLean but I would have to look up some records to verify the information. It is believed she went to her sister as she no longer had any immediate relatives in Scotland.

If I find anything else which might help find the marriage I will post again.

Duncan Hyndman born 1876, Skipness Argyll Scotland. married Margaret Currie born 1874 Killean, Argyll Scotland.
Both emmigrated to Saskatchewan, he around 1908 and she in Oct 1922 as his fiancee.

Have not been able to find the marriage on any of the Genealogy sites. Ancestry, Find my Past. or My Heritage. Canada records did not provide anything.  They did not marry in Scotland.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I use other areas when searching but had never used the South African one. Just came across it by chance.
I have A Find my Past Subscription as I really like it for Census.  Also have had a My Heritage Sub.Most of my ancestors are Scottish so I use Sc People also.

Have gone to Edinburgh many times to Sc People and it is a great experience to be there where all the records are kept.

Researching is a great past time for me.

Thank you very much for the information about Christina.  I appreciate that you paid to view this information.  That was not my intention that one should pay. I would gladly reimburse you.

Now I should be able to complete the history of the McCallum & McAllister  sister and brother families who went to South Africa.  Brave people, South Africa, so different from Kintyre, Argyll.

That was my thoughts that if she Christina  signed in 1968 as C.Blair she did not marry.  I failed to say she always signed her name as Christina McCallum Blair.

I have looked at the 29 Collections for South Africa/ Africa but failed to find anything.  Any suggestions.

Her Twin brother died in 1961 in Pretoria.  I did not find anything for Christina there. The brother had spouse and children . One always thinks as twins they live close to each other.

Anything else you think of will be appreciated.
