1. Christopher MITCHELL, M. Born about 1801 in Camberwell, Surrey, England. Occupation: Labourer In 1840.

There was a Christopher MITCHELL born 9th September 1803 and christened 13th November 1803 at St Giles, Camberwell, London, England.  He was born to John and Harriet MITCHELL.

There was a Christopher MITCHELL marrying and Caroline DIGBY on 1st September 1830 in St Mary's, Lambeth, Surrey, England.

I'm still very interested.  The last post is very interesting.  I would be interested in where they were born by looking at the 1851 and 1861 Census entries.  The names of the children are similar to the ones in Tasmania as well.  That seems a good guide.

Caroline has an entry in www.familysearch.org as well:
