Hello Joy, I have a family tree of the Link family on the Knottingley family tree web site, that's where I started doing the Tree, but my Dad and I sat down a long time ago and he remembered quite a lot of stuff and I had it packed away for years. I didn't know a lot of the family but you learn a lot doing family trees. I also have one on Ancestry which you can look at. About the Fairground relative, there was an Aunt who travelled with the Fair, she could have been married to someone from a fairground family, my Dad would take me down to the Fairground everytime they were in town, she ran the cocoanut shye. I can't remember her name. Ann Eliza, after Richard died married Thomas Illingworth and I remember aunt Maggie, one of their children, I liked her. She used to come to my Dad's Pub and her 3 kids and I would play in the back garden on the beer barrels. I left Knottingley in 1953 , married a Canadian, so I live in Canada, don't get to visit like I used to, getting old but I have a lot of cousins on my mothers side still all around there and a cousin on the Link side lives in Pontefract who has also done the Link Tree. I spend a lot of time looking up people from all sides, sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes not. If I find anything at all to do with our families I will let you know for sure. For now I will close, best regards, Brenda

Hello Joy, Richard Burton was my great grandfather and Ann Smith my great grandmother, Their child Mary Ann Burton (also known as Smith) was my grandmother, she married William Link and their eldest child, William was my Dad. Although I have the Link Family tree done, I haven't much on the Burton side, but would love to have their history as well. My Dad always said the Smiths were from Ireland but I haven't anything about that. If you find out anything about the Burtons I would love to know and if I find out anything (I'm always searching) I will pass it on to you. Hoping to get a reply, regards, Brenda Beattie.
