Cardiganshire / Re: Evan Davies b: 1865 Ystrad, Cardiganshire

Thank you Colin.  This is the right census for Jane Davies and her children.  I found an Evan Davies in all the census' upto 1881 (with his parents). If I have the right Evan Davies (1891 census) it states he is single and living with parents and also found one  living in Aberdare as a lodger. (1891) which also states him as single.  His marriage was abt 1884/5.  Missing from 1901 census.  1911 census living with Jane and Thomas at Frondeg (which is definitely the right one). Hope this makes sense.  Thanks.

Not sure if this is the right family.  The children are :  Watkin, Hannah,  David, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Evan James and Thomas.  But Jane is about the right year.  David died in 1895.  Thank you Colin.

Looking for help with Evan Davies b: 1865, Ystrad.  I can find him on the 71/81/91 census'.  He lived in Aberdare as a Lodger in 1891.   1911 census he is listed as living with his wife Jane and son Thomas at Frondeg, Cribyn.  I cannot find him on the 1901 census.  Thank you.

Glamorganshire / Re: John Beynon b: 1959

Thank you both.  I had a feeling he had died before the 1891 census as he wasn't listed in the census with the children.  This is the info I have in my tree (the baptism) and parent's names.  Thought I had the wrong family  but this does fit.  Cheers both.

Glamorganshire / John Beynon b: 1959
« on: Monday 01 June 15 00:02 BST (UK)  »
I have asked about John Beynon before, with helpful replies.  Feel I'm hitting a brick wall with this one.  Born in 1859, he married  Emma Hitchcock (Devon) in Swansea, 1881.  On the marriage certificate there is another John Beynon married to Sarah Button. Don't know if he is any relation.  John had two children born in 1885 and 1886.  On his marriage cert is states he lived in Singleton Terrace, Swansea and his father's name is William.  Sorry I have no other relatives names to go by.  Emma remarried Robert Trew.  John was either born in Llangennith or in Swansea. I cannot find him on the 1881/91 census.  Any help appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks all.  Re: William Beynon, Llangennith. I am puzzled too with the niece, Ann Chalk. (1851 census). In a 1891 census,  another William Beynon b: 1821,  there is a Sarah Jane Chalk listed as a niece.  Chalk is not a very popular name,  so wonder if there is some connection here.

Yes CarolW,  hopefully the marriage is right,  as someone said Beynon was spelt with an R.  Thanks.

That is the right census.  Didn't think of the surname being spelt wrong.  Looks like it fits.  So Jane Edwards was possibly a sister of Elenor.   Thank you all.

Their first child was born in 1850.  Only seen a marriage in Narbeth for William and Elenor.  Narbeth is quite a bit away from Llangennith.  Thank you.
