I am researching  Michael Murphy and Margaret Gribbins
who migrated to Melbourne.  I am helping my niece whose mother was a daughter of Thomas Murphy and Jessie Green
who were married in 1875.  Thomas was the son of Michael and Margaret Gribbins. I look forward to hearing from you.

I only read your message of 2005 today, 5 June, 2009!!!!
It sounded quite exciting especially if "your Hugh" and "My Hugh" are one and the same.   In the intervening years you may have more information.  I would like to send you a two page family tree which I have but I need your email address
and I think if I give you mine, it is the policy to eliminate it.  I will try anyway -

Kirsty:

Thanks for your prompt reply.  You are right about the children who died in infancy.  I am trying to contact someone who has done some research on the Chalmer family as I am at a dead end.  At this stage I do not want to research Andrew's wife's family.

I have traced one son, James, b. 1742, but that male line dies out.  So that really leaves me with 7 sons and their descendants,if any.

Is Christian a male or female name in Scotland please?

Andrew was the son of William Chalmer/s and Katherine Weir m. 1701.

The information you sent was great.  I would appreciate
the final bit of information to 1939.   I presume the Electoral Roll does not indicate whether the persons were  occupiers or owners?

I don't know which year  Eric Malcolm Fraser left but it would appear that in 1939 Edward Hill Fitch was living there.

I very much appreciate the research you are carrying out for me.

I was feeling guilty when I heard that you were doing this research in your lunch-hour.  I thought you had a CD at home.

Then, so quickly you sent me the results of your first search.  Again many thanks
