Thanks for all of this - I am just back from Dublin where I spent much time at the Registry of Deeds - and found several records involving Joseph Ingham in and around Belturbet, Co. Cavan.  Now to order microfilm from Family Search for a closer look!

The names are John S. Ingham County Cavan, Parish of Anna, 25 Aug 1808, George Ingham County Fermanaugh, Parish of Inniskillen?, 15 Apr 1811, William C. Ingham County Cavan, Belturber, 15 Jul 1815. For John, it appears that he served earlier from 1796 to 1801. I have no indication of what regiment.

Ken- Thanks, this is helpful.  These enlistments are from the early 1800's - where would I find the muster books?

I've also come across relatives in the Registers of Service and now understand that they are UK and not necessarily Canada.  The Attestation section lists Place, Date, For what period of time, and By whom enlisted.  I understand that the actual Attestation form includes even more information - including next of kin.  So my question is, where might I find these forms?

I've located some Ingham ancestors from Cavan and Fermanaugh in the Canada, British Regimental Registers of Srevice, 1756-1900.  In particular, John, George and William.  Can anyone tell me where I might find the Attestation forms?

This is perfect - thanks - it lets me know that originally the English Government retained these English, Scots and Irish troops in Holland - then renamed them The Dutch Guards!

Cahoots!  Yup apparently they were in cahoots!  The archivist who responded to me noted that 'only selected officers and regiments to whom payments were made' are listed in the paymasters book.  I fear that my search has hit a dead end.

The archivist at the Orange Order was unable to locate any reference to Capt. Joseph Ingham in the Paymaster's Book.
I am curious to learn how you determined that the Dutch Blue Guard were Catholic?

I have had a reply from David Hume - he will have the archivist look for me.  He did note that there are 1450 names in the book...and there were 25,000 in William's army.
