Justin

I I have a number of files available for Caswells all over the world, so please let me have all the info you have and I'll try to see if I can find something for you.

First off - all Caswell roads eventually lead to Wiltshire. The Caswell castle, abandoned before 1088 is near Witney.

I have a huge file of this line  www.moonrakers.com/caswell.zip  Its a GEDCOM

http://www.moonrakers.com/genealogy/caswell/index.html

Then look at these files

NEW!!! "OUR CASWELL RELATIVES" by Shirley Mayse.

Scan the UK IGI Download - a ton of data here!!!!

I hope this helps!
Ok what I do know is my grandpa's parents father Charles Willis Caswell and his mom first name Alberta "nudamaker" I don't know how her last name is spelled.
Charles willis caswells dad is henry caswell.
Charles Willis caswell died when my grandpa was 15 and he was born in 1949. I wish I had more info. I should be getting a bit more after I talk to my grandpa.
Also Charles Willis caswell had many more kids here are a few, Karen ,Connie,Judy, sandy there's more but notsure

Hi Justin,

There are many good suggestions if you are just starting out on the beginners forum here:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,47.0.html

The first thing to do is make a note of all of the details you DO know like your parents names (especially middle names) and your mother's maiden name and as much as you know about your grandparents.

A good start can be made at freeBMD here to fill in some blanks and work out where to go forward:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

Also, don't hesitate to post questions here on Rootschat. Everyone here are keen to help.

Good luck in your quest - but be warned, it is VERY addictive.  :)

Paul

The type of questions its asking is quite confusing ha. Like spouse surname all that. I was told that a story from a mtt Caswell posted in 1999 was the quest that confirmed ALL caswell last name to be from there. Not sure if this is true or not. Water cress was only thing that really made that guy stop his quest . This is quite addicting but I hit dead  after dead end. I have my father my grandpa's and great grandpa's name.

That's my tree on AncestryHost.

Not sure about any connection with Thorncombe or Holditch. The first four children were born in Powerstock. Then comes Clement, a mariner who ended up in Durham.

I'd be happy to provide a GedCom. PM me and I'll get one to you. Your interest is appreciated.

Paul

I'm a little new to this and you seem to know your stuff...I was wondering how to figure out where my roots come from Nd originated any help is appreciated I have limited info but will give what I have
