Thank you to you both. I had found this Census, then assumed that is what the S standed for. Then a relative confirmed it was and said it was on his marraige certificate. However I cannot get more info from the family members being told to 'leave it alone'. I sent for his birth certificate and  my money was returned stating
Thank you for your order as detailed below.

Birth Certificate: WILFRED TAYLOR born in HIGHWORTH
We have been unable to process your application, please refer to the paragraph below.
There is no trace of the above mentioned person at the reference you quoted

I got the reference from FBMD site

Thankyou again for the responses

Hello
I am looking for information on my Grandfather.
He was born on the 17th December 1890 I was told his birth was in Wroughton or could be Purton.
His full name is Wilfred George S Taylor. The S I believe stands for Strange. His Mothers name could be Mary Taylor. He went to live with his grandparents in Wootton Bassett at the age of 9 but I cannot find details of him previous to this and cannot confirm who his parents are which is what I want to trace.
Birth details   Jan Feb march 1891 Highworth  533  5a 16
I have lots of information for him from 1901 but would love any info previous to this. If anyone can help I would be most grateful. Thank you x

hello

My Great Granparents are the lawrence family who lived at the cross keys in Bassett. I would love to see the details you have on them. I have a copy of My Ggrandfathers enlistment papers and can email you a copy of that. They are partially burnt but very readable
Love to hear from you
