Thanks Johnnyboy For your input that too has proved most helpful to me. I did e-mail the son of Thomas and am still waiting a reply. he may not be interested. but would be nice if he acknowledges it. :D

sorry i will use the text 'may have instead of 'must have' that way it is still not confirmed ..must check the street directories and see if i can find the street no Clara cavan was living in. I know I am jumping to conclusions its part of the Gemini trait!! But thank you for getting back again.

Thank you for your findings. i didn't know fred worked in the pub too and yes it more than likely is Thomas Quinn in East street..Strange thing is my mother his Great grandaughter just moved around the corner from this street in June this year. I did do some research into the sisters but the sister called Lizzie is a bit of a mystery. Clara lived in court street with her hubby walter Cavan but I have never been able to find exactly where. Fred I have tried to find but with no luck at all. No-one on the quinn side has any information on him Just the brother that immigrated to USA and the one that owned the pub. Good to know Robert quinn ran the pub so it must have been in the family in the late 1800's prior to William Henry working there. i do have William Henry's grave no at movilla Cemetery and hope to go looking for it some day. I live quite close to it. I wondered why Thomas wasnt listed with his family. His wife and him must have seperated. Thomas's son George moved to belfast at 17. he is my great grandad. he was a very strict man and wasn't very nice to his wife so she threw him out. Sadly he was killed in the shipyard when he was in in his 50's. his overall caught in the machine and he was pulled into it.
Clara is buried at Movilla with her husband. I found her on 'Billions of graves'. She is my mums great Aunt and my mum has very vivid memories of visiting her when she was a young girl.
I think my main curiosity would be to find out where frederick Loftus went (Gosh what a middle name) and Lizzie Cavan. Thank you so much :) for all your help and i must try and get their marriage cert along with my great granda's birth certificate that will help fill in more gaps.

Looking for ancestors of Quinn family that was from george's street in Newtownards back in the early 1900's. William Henry ran the Old cross Inn then his father took over after his sons death at age 25. There were 2 sisters called Lizzie and Clara and both married cavan brothers. Frederick Loftus Quinn seemed to disappear he more than likely immigrated. The probable connection will be the Cavan family.
There was talk that Lizzie became widowed and moved to England. One brother Robert Andrew immigrated to USA and settled in Pennsylvania.( aleady got info on his ancestory) Clara married  Walter Cavan and their daughter became a missionary. They also had a son called harry cavan who was at one time the president of the F.A back in the 70's.

got unto find a grave and they will pop out to take a pic of their grave ..If Thomas Henry is buried with his parents then he may not have been married. If he was military would he have had to be buried in the military section or not? :)

yes I was starting to get father and son mixed up and thought perhaps Robert quinn was in the army as his details are logged into world war 1 and 2 registration cards..I am easily confused .com most of the time but now realise it was his son that may have been from military background. Thank you once again for helping me clear things up. The family seem to be in a family plot which certainly makes it easier for me to find them all. You have been a star! I will get on the ball again and see what else comes up.. first thing is to look for their grave..will keep you posted. :)

Then he perhaps may not ahve served in the army but if he was buried in a military graveyard I suppose that would indicate that he prob would have served. How would you find this out?  :)
