Thanks all for having a look, I may have to look a little further afield than Hampshire!
It does become difficult to prove definitive links the further back in time you look!

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Esther Page Canner
« on: Saturday 18 January 25 17:46 GMT (UK)  »
My third great grandmother was born about 1795 and baptized in Upham Hampshire. Her baptised name is Esther Page Canner, which she continued to use throughout her life, the Esther Page that is .
When she married in 1816 to Richard Abraham at Portsea Hampshire the witness's at the marriage were Robert and Elizabeth Page !
Her parents were I believe John Canner and Ann Urry, I am trying to see where the name Page came from, and if there is a connection to the witness's at her marriage.
Interested in any thoughts or knowledge out there. :-\

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Ancestry Private Media

I think you will find it really difficult to keep photos private that are included from a public tree on Ancestry. Anyone can screenshot your pictures and then re use them as their own. I have had some of my photos hi jacked this way on Ancestry, at first I was stunned when this happened but then I realised that the people who reposted my pictures also had a connection to the people in them, I was the lucky one with the original!
Some of my pictures from Ancestry appear on other sites across the world who knows where they will end up,

Canada / Bursey in Old Pelican Newfoundland
« on: Monday 16 December 24 16:14 GMT (UK)  »
Real longshot, I have a DNA connection with this area going way back to when the area was first being settled by English fishermen. I believe the connection was via John Bursey or one of his descendants from Poole or Christchurch or Southampton in England. John died around 1770 in Ibsley in Hampshire England. I do believe the name Bursey may provoke some memories. Interested to hear any thoughts anyone may have ::)
