greatgran ellen brigham seems to have vanished since granny jane ann was born in 1889 hanover sq london granddad william brigham has 2nd wife mary ann in hull  1881 census  can anyone help please  ???

Hi Janeyanne,

Ellen was my great-great-grandfather's first wife.  She died in Wandsworth in 1876 (1D 399).  William then married Mary Burke, a servant (b.1854, India) around 1878, but there is no record of the marriage in England and Wales.  I have assumed that they married in Ireland (where Mary's family originated).

Hope this helps!

Sean

Hi Janeyanne,

William and his second wife Mary Burke were my great-great-grandparents.  I'm not related to Ellen, and I have been unable to trace Mary Anne Brown, so I can't help with your question, but good to know that I have another cousin out there!

Best wishes.

Sean
