I was going to post the diary but 5500 characters won't allow but a page at a time.  The diary is being posted at  http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189208
for those interested.

John, thanks for the reply.  Do you belong to an agency?  I'm new here so excuse my ignorance.  I'm just interested in knowing who I an speaking with.  I live in Canada so I don't have ready access to UK sources. The cousin I obtained the diary from is UK based but he is busy doing other things and has no time for this.  I have about 20 pages of 48 done with many blanks and these first pages just take me to the front line of the Somme October 1916.  When i say names of the unit  it is mainly the men in the photograph but there are others too including two bat men working for my grandfather and another officer.  The diary was actually done on his return and then again in 1961.

I am a descendant of an officer from this regiment and am presently deciphering a hand written diary of  my grandfather's.  I'm only part way through as it is difficult to read and I am unfamiliar with a number of English terms/ phrases and I am interested in discussing with anyone who has an interest in talking about this regiment.  I have a photograph of the unit along with a diary that contains mentions of every member of this unit.
