Sorry I probably didnt realise it was just for young boys.  Yes of course he would have been too old.  Its not a common name so I just went along the lines of Abel Taylor and as he was declared insolvent in the 1840s thought he might have been him.   Many thanks.

My gt grandfather Abel Taylor B1809 in Lyndon End and lived Bickenhill.  I am trying to find out info on him and I see there is an Abel Taylor underEngland and Wales Criminal Registers, Birmingham for a person of that name and charged with Larceny and was sent to Saltley Reform School  in  1856.  How can I check that indeed it is my gt grandfather?  I was under the impression that he had died in 1853 but of course I could be wrong.  Thanks

Colin, I think Abel is the one in 1810 at St Philips. I know that George(my gt grandfather) who was his son did move to Birmingham and certainly did live in Aston - 2 Lichfield Road where he had a shop so its a possibility he was living there.  The other ones you mention in Yardley - are they Taylors and do they show the parents as Thomas Taylor/Sarah Stringer?  Many thanks Carol

I am looking for info on Thomas Taylor B1785.  The only information I have is his son Abel Taylor B1809 in Yardley, but I cannot find any more of where Thomas was born, hence I cannot get any further back. I know also that Abel married Ann Hall from Long Compton and lived in Bickenhill. :) Any help would be appreciated.  Many thanks  Carol.
