Yes I have Hallot and Sacre down as possible surnames, although havent been able to confirm it yet. Yes apparently the mother's name was spelt different on Gille's birth certificate. No problem with the siblings, take on the challenge again to find out how many there is and their names.
Ah cool wouldnt mind if you could give me a little information on Emma Mabel all I have for her is dob 15 July 1879 Dalby QLD and died 4 May 1950 Toowoomba QLD but have no spouse or children for her. If your happy to share some information feel free to email me at (*)

For Louis Fontaine I have down father as Louis snr. and mother Dubois Marie Catherine
Curious do you have any other names of siblings for Gille and Louis Joseph? I know there is at least another sister, I have had a break from research while I finished my course so only just getting back into it now, and this is where I have started to try and find the siblings names (and confirm them).

Hallot Marie Josphe Francoise Hannon I have father down as Hallot Theodore Hannon & mother as Sacre Marie Charlotte (currently havent found a surname).

Danielle, I don't have a lot more than in this string. However, have been trying to find parents of Louis and Marie on arch.arch.be, but not sure yet. One thing I did find in English census records of 1861 was a Lucy Smoothey age 66 (most likely Mary Ann's mum) living as a nurse to Joseph and Mary Kimpton and family. Kimptons appear to have been well off ,living at 10 and 11 Old Kent Rd,Lambeth, Camberwell. Joseph shown as "freeholder and fundholder".  Seiey(Lucy) married to William Henry Unwin 9 Oct 1840 at St Mary's,Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets.

Yes the Arch.arch.be website is a great site for Fontaine research. I havent looked too much at the English records. I only have a date of death for Mary Ann's mother also a possible other name of Seiey too I thought maybe maiden name, but haven't looked into it yet. but no first name.  Interesting you have she is married to a William Henry (I know it was a common name), but I also have a William Henry Luke Rider as Mary Ann's husband. Where does your family tree go after Gille??

Hi all - discovered this thread a while back and as a ggson of Gille also interested. My cousin has a Fontaine family bible which shows the baby who died soon after birth (11 July 1867) was to have been called Jeanette. Also may be of interest that the family believe Gille operated a boxing and fencing school in Dalby.

Wow that is really cool, would be interested in what information you have. I knew there was a baby that died soon after birth, although no record of a possible name. I have a little information but he seems to be very elusive. Not many of the Fontaine's on my side are still living just my grandfather and his sister.

Yes totally agree AND that is why the names in the post are of only of known deceased people. But thank you for your input I was well aware!

I have the birth years and if it is only the 3 girls (which at this stage I am saying yes, and the other one would be older anyway, according to BDM), then I do know Joy (Thelma) was the youngest and she was the last to die, well from my personal research.
Beatrice was my grandmother. Where is the best place to search electoral rolls? I have yet to do anything like that, but sounds like it might be a way to get a fair bit of information.

Oh yes it's not one certificate I was worried about. I meant I would probably have to purchase the sister's certificates too to find the children's names.

thanks will check out the links
