Thanks for your help Trish and Rosie. It helped my find a few more possible family members. :)

Thanks Rosie for spotting that William was not from Lincs. Do you know any way of finding where was from? Been trolling through online records and cannot identify him.

Hi,
Going around in circles trying to find info./parents of William Kirk born 1809 in Burringham or Bassingham. Lincs. Married Anne Stephenson (1803-1835) in Amcotts 30/12/1830
They had son John in July 1833 born Burringham 2/8/1833. Baptised Althorpe 2/8/1833.
(John's Marriage Certificate in 1854 (Hull) lists William as a grocer ( Do they list deceased Father's occupation as I think William died in Hull in1846)
William was widowed in 1835, married Martha Horner in 1836 and was a Linen Draper/ Grocer in Winteringham in 1841.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi,
It is possible. She married William Kirk and was living in Winteringham district in 1841 they had a child John but may have had another before meeting William. The family moved to Hull where William died in 1850 so she may have gone to live with her son? in Beverley where she died at 62.
Your lodger could have been a grandson.
I guess if you can access the census record for Winteringham for 1841 and see who was in William Kirk's household it may show Martha's other children ,if any.

Thanks for your help.

It is possible she had been previously married and widowed, but as she was married to Henry Haddon when she was 24, it's probably unlikely. She gave birth to James Henry Haddon in 1872.
I only thought she had been born in Wales, as that was the only Stanner I could find.
Apparently Stanhoe, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, is pronounced Stanner. Interestingly there is  another family connection to the Kings Lynn, Grace Emma Ringwood b 1865 at West Winch. Although I have no direct connection at this stage.
I wonder why the 1901 census has her born in Yarmouth and the 1911 has her born in Stanner?
They are about 50 miles apart.
If the possible match found by 'groom' is correct, I assume she will not appear on the 1871 census with Henry Haddon in Hull?
Is there some connection to Amelia Eagleton 2? or was she just an aunt?

Hi again,
Thanks ever so much CaroleW, Westmoreland and *Sandra*.
The info you have given has cleared up a few queries I have had. I had Alice dying in 1935 (that may have been a niece) I assumed that Alice and Charles had split up. I do not know if Charles was in a relationship with Grace. I wonder why she left Norfolk for Hull? I think there was a movement of workers. (My maternal great grandparents made the same move) Kings Lynn where Grace worked in 1881 is a port that would have had trade with the port of Hull.
There is no mention of Florence who would have been 1 in 1891 and Maud (5) and Gertrude (12)
I suppose they may have been staying with another relative.
As for the information I was looking for it was really on Grace's parents, which you have given me.

Thank you again. Great forum.
