The Common Room / Re: Where might I be able to locate a 17th century divorce case?

Hi i found an item while out detecting a few months ago that has links to the Hockmore/Pitt family so i have been doing some research. The story/case of Mary Prestwood/Hockmore and what happened to her is something im trying to find out about.
Thank you to the person who transcribed some of it. There is a Mrs Mary Hockmore who was buried in London in February 1699 which is just a few weeks after one of the court cases. Could this be her?  Did she attend later court cases?

Hi I posted a comment on this yesterday and now my post has disappeared. I had a message from a lady called Valerie from Australia but I cant seem to reply to her message. If she sees this I am really interested in what information she can give me as I am researching the family after finding an item while out metal detecting that is quite personal to members of the Hockmore/Pitt family from early 1700s.
Is there a way I can reply to Valerie via rootschat?

Hi Can you tell me if you managed to transcribe the whole document? I have downloaded some of the pages and agree its really impossible to read it. I found an item of Marys daughter Jane Hockmores son while out detecting a few months ago and am researching the family tree (which is proving to be interesting to say the least). I have visited the Hockmore residence where William and Mary lived with their children, which is fairly close to where I live.
There is a Mrs Mary Hockmore who died and was buried in London in Feb 1699 which was only a couple of weeks after a court case. Im wondering if this is her burial.

Any updates would be greatly appreciated
