Firstly I was absolutely amazed at getting answers to my question a whole 16 years after I put the question on  ;D

Thank you so much for this information - I shall be retiring in 6 months and cannot wait to get back into my family history.  I will get back to you when I've had time to digest this information.  Thank you again.

Thank you for your help in this, much appreciated - It's difficult doing research between work commitments but I'm getting there  :)

Hi Alan,

Was Philip Calladine's parents Thomas Calladine (1875) and Maria Gallagher?  I seem to be a bit stuck on Philip's wife's (Lily Bradbury's) parents - I have George Henry Bradbury but he is a widow in the 1911 census - Lily had a brother Albert E Bradbury (1899).

About the car accident in France - There was another brother killed Brian Calladine father of the 2 children - his wife Valerie survived but he was injured and brought back to Derby and died shortly afterwards at Bretby hospital.

The awful thing was that Agnes's husband Charles W Taylor (1927) passed away a week after the accident in France  :-[

Meath / Re: CONNELL Family from Tubrid or Tubride!
« on: Saturday 24 July 10 14:58 BST (UK)  »
I haven't come across an Ann Connell in my family tree yet - just wish I could help you further but Hugh Connell had 7 children i.e. James (1883), Matthew (1984), Matthew (1887), Peter (1892), Margaret (1894), Patrick Joseph (1896) and Bridget (1900).  Hugh's father was a James Connell that's all I know up to now.  Unless James's siblings had an Ann?

Please let me know if you get any further on it as I havent managed to get any further with my research - quite difficult researching Irish ancestry but I did get further than I originally thought I would.

Kindest regards,
June

Thank you for your reply Christopher.  Since I posted my previous message I have actually managed to trace my Cleary ancestors.  It took some doing since any certificates were before registration but got a lucky break.

Regards, Junex

My Coyle family (Thomas (1773-1849 - my grt-grt-grandfather) and Anne (nee Masterson) (1799-1875)) were from the Hammondstown & Tonaghmore district and they had the following children: Patrick (1825-1844), Thomas (1826), Mathew (1831), Philip (1833 - my grt-grandfather), Bryan (1835-1858) and John (1836).

I think John married a Mary Cooney and had the following children: Bridget (1867), Patrick (1868), Gerald (1870), Peter 1872), Michael (1873), Mary (1875), Elizabeth (1876) and John (1880). I believe John and Mary (nee Cooney) went to live in New Jersey America!

Any info please let me know!

My Connell relations were also under Kilbride and sometimes in the registration district of Ballyjamesduff.  But during research I found there were loads of Coyles in these districts and they didn't seem related to my Coyles.  Have you had a look through the County Cavan 1821 census as you may find the family you are looking for there:
