Norfolk Completed Look up Requests / Re: charlotte skipper
« on: Wednesday 30 September 15 09:28 BST (UK)  »
Annette....what can I say :o This is definitely MY William Skipper! His son Lewis is my great grandfather...a story behind him! I had only just got round to thinking America/emigration but as they lived in a tiny village in deepest darkest Norfolk I'd not seriously considered it! I can't thank you enough...this is my first ancestor to emigrate...awesome...so many questions..why? possibly because there'd been death of 2 sons, possibly lack of work...would you kindly email me with the sources so I can add to my tree info. I woke this morning thinking I'd dreamt this. THANK YOU so much.

thank you for your replies!
Charlotte was born in 1794 in Catfield Norfolk, daughter of Edward & Mary Myhill. She married William Skipper in Catfield on 27-12-1814. I have them in census 1841, 1851 but lost to me after that....I've spent quite a few years looking for  both of them. I followed their children but to no avail. I have a death cert for William Skipper in 1881 living in Costessey, Norwich, but can't e sure he's  'mine'.

a chatter kindly left a message for me that they had found Charlotte Skipper in a hospital in Norwich in one of the censuses. Try as I may I cannot find this  message or Charlotte in a Norwich census...PLEASE could  that person remessage me. She has been  a missing person on my tree for a few years now. :)

Hello everyone
I've just discovered my x5 great grandfather William Pearce's marriage  in Stoke Dameral register for 1788. It says he's an 'Artificer in Royal Engineers' could anyone tell me what this means..jobs wise and any other info! Grateful in advance. :)

Norfolk / baptism of Maria Bullock about 1819

Hello chatters
I'm asking for help in finding my x2 greatgrandmothers baptism. She was married in Edgefield in 1841
aged 23.  I've trawled Edgefield and Briston in norfolk,  registers with no luck. Her father is stated as Richard Bullock on the marriage cert but William Bullock 'signs'. Could she have been married in the church if
she hadn't been baptised?

thanks for reading this  :)
