Kent / Re: Foreman of Sturry
« on: Thursday 28 February 13 20:45 GMT (UK)  »
thanks everyone for your input.  I know Sturry was the area they lived from 1790's onwards.  I think John and Sarah Ridgen (who I assumed were the parents of William snr) were in fact the grandparents and the later John/Sarah (1791 Sturry) were the parents.

If only our ancestors knew how difficult they made our lives by all having the same names - 3 generations of John/Sarah did make things difficult.

 :)

Is anyone researching the Foreman family from Sturry?

Also, can anyone help with the several John and Sarah Foreman's from the surrounding area.  How canI tell which is the relevant couple.

William Foreman b 1795 Sturry s/o John and Sarah.  I cannot find a John/Sarah from Sturry, but there are 3 generations of John/Sarah from neighbouring Hackington which may fit.  However, there is also John/Sarah from Hernehill which is a tiny bit further in a different direction.  Is there any way I can find maiden name of the Sarah's as it is obv before birth certifcation era.

thanks :-\

sorry - doing 2 many things at once - that should read b 1756c not 1856 - the parish registers do not give parents names.  First wife was Mary Wallis m 26 Jan 1789 at St Sepulchre, London and 2nd wife Elizabeth Kinkell m 1804 in Chalk.

I am looking for any info on Morgan David and his family.  I believe he was born c1856 in Egerton/Sevenoaks.  His first wife was Mary Wallis and his 2nd wife Elizabeth Kinkell (believed to be from Holland/Germany.
Family legend has it that they were gipsies from Chalk/Erith - is there any way to prove/disprove this.
I have found the marriages and children for Morgan - but who were his parents/siblings r any other info on his family please

Kent / Elizabeth Richardson b 1880 North Aylesford - Strood Workhouse

Hi
I am trying to locate records of my g.graqndmother Elizabeth Sarah Richardson d/o Thomas and Elizabeth Sarah Gregory.  She was born in 1880 but Thomas died in 1881 and Elizabeth Snr in 1883.  I assume she was sent to the Strood Union Workhouse with her brothers, but cannot find any evidence to support this.  She does not show up on the 1891 census.  She married George Linnell in 1898.

Can anyone help with her whereabouts from 1883 to 1898 please.
