Glen calvie is about10 miles west of the village  of Ardgay in Ross-shire.The name Ross was a very popular name in those parts.anyone looking for information or interest in the Ross name in this area should read up on anything to do with the highland clearances in this area .please google "the massacre of the Rosses" and this will give a starting point as to what the families had to endure and why so many left. Also read up on a small church called Croick church, many rosses are buried in the grave yard here.this is the church where the rosses fled to for shelter and engravings can still be seen in the church windows that the people did when they were there.
