Gloucestershire / Duddage Manor
« on: Monday 29 October 07 08:06 GMT (UK)  »
I am doing some research for a friend surname Bick.  Duddage Manor, Twyning Green, nr Tewksbury was supposedly the home of his ancestors.  Does anyone know anything about this Manor, of so it would be great to hear something about it.  I believe that all is left is a wall.

Hi Greg,

some of your dates dont match , you say he was transported in 1823/4, then a bit further down you say 1835.  If he was born in 1813 and transported in 1823 that would make him only 10. Are you in UK or Aust.

Thanks a lot for the info on Henry Albert.  I did not know what his actual crime was the only reason given was Temptation in an Evil Hour.  He was transported for 14 years, two lots of 7.  Will try to access the LMA site, but as you can understand getting info from Uk while in Aust can sometimes be difficult.

Thank you very much, I now know a bit more.  for your info he became a respectable businessman  in Fremantle. WA.

Does anyone know what I can find convict records. Am trying to find info on Henry Albert. Sentenced at the Central law Courts 1850, transported to Australia.  His address at the time was 93 Fenchurch St. London.

Elizabeths surname is supposed to be Albert, and her father Henry Albert, but it is doubtful that was his real name, as he was a convict and I can find no record of his marriage or birth.  I was hoping that if I could find a record of her and Fredericks marriage it might state her real surname if Albert is a false one.

thanks ???

I believe he was born in either Whitley or Guildford, not sure, and his birthdate was before 1850.
Thanks for your help
