The Lighter Side / Re: Heir Hunters new series
« on: Monday 23 April 18 19:00 BST (UK)  »
I watched the first programme of this series. One of the two cases mentioned during the programme was out of date, the death being over thirty years before the day the programme was shown. Otherwise quite interesting.

I have found on FamilySearch the birth record of Ellsworth Arthur Morales on 11th June 1929 (the correct date) the son of Ethel Morales (no father) at 2 Little Water Street, Kingston, Jamaica. The birth was registered by Octavius Clarke, the occupier of 2 Little Water Street. I think that this is his birth. When he came to England in the 1950's he was using the surname Clarke.

The above father was my father with whom I lost contact in the 1970's when my mother married my stepfather. I only found out a couple of years ago that he had died. I would be be pleased to hear from anybody who was related to my father or who knew him.

Kent / Fanny Gilbert nee Green born 1859
« on: Monday 23 December 13 18:22 GMT (UK)  »
My uncle and I are both descended from Charles Green (b. 1809) and Charlotte Livermore of Great Waltham, Essex, through their son Samuel, also known as John (b. 1843). We are currently researching Samuel's sister Fanny who was born in 1859 in Great Waltham. We have found that in 1878 she married Benjamin Gilbert in Milton, Kent which is where Samuel lived.

We have found her on the 1881 census but not on any subsequent census even though we have found Benjamin living in Sittingbourne as a lodger and described as married on later censuses. They had at least 2 children, Ellen (b. 1879) and George (b. 1881). Ellen in 1891 is living with Ben’s sister at Sheerness. In 1901 a servant in Bromley & 1911 a servant at Norwood. George in 1891 is living with Samuel Green’s in laws named Sarah Ganden described as a nurse child. We think he dies in 1899 at Milton aged 17.

Can anybody help us find out what happened to Fanny after 1881.

I forgot to say that I believe that Charles Hutchins died in March 1837 which may be why Richard Maybank gave permission for Mary Ann to marry; perhaps he was her employer. Her mother Elizabeth appears to remarry in 1840 as a widow to James Haylock, a widower. She is in the 1841 Census as Elizabeth Haylock and her son Thomas is living with her. Andy

I am descended from Thomas William Hutchin born 1827 and baptised 1830 who was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Hutchin who I believe is Mary Ann's brother. Just to let you know that Mary Ann also had an older brother Samuel who was baptised on 22 Mar 1818 at St George in the East. Andy
