Kent / Re: Burial in Maidstone
« on: Sunday 02 October 16 17:09 BST (UK)  »
Many thanks SmallTownGirl for your speedy reply and giving me the actual date of his death at the Mental hospital which was at Braming Heath, Maidstone. If he was buried at Oakwood Cemetry which according to the net 7000 asylum patients and staff were buried there, it is being turned into a public open space. Once again many thanks.

Kent / Burial in Maidstone
« on: Sunday 02 October 16 16:31 BST (UK)  »
Good afternoon all, I am seeking the burial of Benoni Bartholomew aged 12 in Maidstone June Qtr. 1907. I have looked in Dartford, Northfleet and Southfleet as likely sources but no joy so if anybody has the burials for Maidstone will they please have a look to see if indeed he was buried there.
Thank you,
Frenchie

Liz I only found out about this part of the family a year ago and with the arrival today of the marriage cert to Mary B have I found out for definite that Donald was a long lost member of the family. I posted the info. in the hope that a member of that part of the family may read it.
I am duly grateful for the help I have received on this topic.

I return to this topic again as I have acted on the info on Ronalds death in the hope that maybe a family member may see the info. to date.
Ronald's death cert introduced new info in that his widow was not Mahala but Mary Barbara!!! To ascertain I was following the right Ronald I obtained his birth cert. and it confirmed the date of birth etc were correct.
I then obtained the marriage cert. for Surrey Mid.East. in 1941 for Ronald to Mary and it has turned out to be my Ronald giving his age as 32 and Mary 22.
I have tried to find a marriage or death for Mahala without success.
I obtained a death cert for a  Mary Edwards 1995 in Worthing but proved to be the wrong Mary so this cert. is available to anyone interested (widow of Leslie Walton Edwards).
I am tempted to obtain  the death cert for Barbara Mary in Oxford Jun 1993 but that gives her birth as 1908 which would be 10years older than the age given on the marriage cert (22) in 1941.

The Common Room / Short Birth Certificates
« on: Saturday 28 April 12 09:38 BST (UK)  »
My query on this wet morning is when were the Short Birth Certificates first introduced and why were they introduced when all they state is that a child and its sex was born on a certain date. I believe that even the place is not given only the registration district and sub district.  Now I have read that they are slowly not being accepted.
