Norfolk / Re: Help with Bacons of Thurgarton Pedigree
« on: Friday 30 November 12 15:48 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks Sunnylew for taking the time to look.

I have come to the conclusion that Robert, Mary and William are actually the children of John Bacon. There is a mention of his sons being of that name in his will (noted by the compiler of the tree). I think that the tree may have been drawn confusingly so that they appear to be the children of the elder William Bacon. I just have to now work out how the Thurgarton line connects to the Hanworth line !

Norfolk / Help with Bacons of Thurgarton Pedigree
« on: Sunday 18 November 12 16:04 GMT (UK)  »
I have a copy of the Bacon Pedigree from NFHS and although I can make sense of most of it I am struggling to reconcile what appears to be 2 sons called William both born to William Bacon and his wife Hannah Spurrell. They appear to be alive at the same time and the children of William Bacon (youngest son) all appear in the Thurgarton PR as born to William Bacon Junior with no mothers name. It would appear from the attached note that the other William died childless.
Their father William Bacon appears in the PR as William Bacon Senior.

Any ideas greatly appreciated............ ?

Thanks Yokel.
I have looked there before but the register starts 1689 -after the date that I suspect Edmund Spall was christened, circ. 1673. I think Augustine must have married in another parish.

Any information on the Spall family of West Beckham would be much appreciated. I am particularly interested in finding a birth date for Augustine Spaull b. circ. 1728, a marriage record for his father Augustine b. 1701 and a birth and death date for his father Edmund who I suspect was born circ. 1673.
The NFHS has a tree for the Spall family of West Beckham so if anyone has a copy it would be great to hear from you.

Suffolk / Re: King Family of Ellough - Robert King, James King

Hi Keziah2 and Annes

Thanks for the lookups in Ellough. And burial date for Rebecca.

There is a marriage in PR for Thwaite Norfolk between James King and Sarah Botwright. As Thwaite is less than 5 miles from Bungay I concluded that they were the parents of Robert King etc.

Thanks Nanny jan and keziah2.

I was hoping to prove Robert King was the son of James King and his wife Sarah Botwright of Bungay. According to familysearch.org he was christened in Ellough along with his siblings Peter,George,George, Charles and Mary. (familysearch ancestral file which could well be incorrect). There are also 2 other possible siblings James and John.

Robert King buried in Bungay in 1712 must be related somehow along with the other Kings of Bungay.

I think Rebecca died in 1738 but not sure where.
