Family Bibles / Re: PLEWS Family Tree

How very exciting to come across this message board! John Plews snr, Civil Engineer, is my GG grandfather, his son, Edward William Plews, doctor, is my G Grandfather and he emigrated to Australia in 1850s. I would dearly love to make contact with other descendants of this family line. This is my first post, so will hurry and make another two as I would dearly love a copy of the bible information, please Chris in 1066 if you still have it available. Cheers from Australia, Sharon
Hi Sharon
Really interesting to read your message.  I think I know who your John Plews was, he is connected to my Plews line but a long way back (1700s).  Didn't know his son had emigrated though.  There are more Plewses in Australia and NZ so can probably fill you in on some things.  Will contact you again when I have had time to check it.
Regards
Jenny

Chris

Thank you for your message.  Am a bit confused as to how this works, but maybe this will count as my 2nd posting?  Will be in touch when I have posted another!

Hello Chris
I read your message about the family bible with interest.  I am a Plews descendant - my earliest known ancestor is Marmaduke Plews of Thornton Steward and Spennithorne, 1754-1837 who was probably illegitimate.  I think your Thomas Plews may be a different branch of the family, but having done quite a lot of research into the Plewses I suspect they were all related somehow.  Thomas Plews, farmer, of Thornton Steward may have been the brother or half-brother of Marmaduke.  If you still have a copy of the tree you found I would love a copy of it which might help unravel some of the mysteries!  Would love to hear from anyone else who is researching this family.
Regards
Jenny
