Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: Mar of Robert BARBER & Lucy, poss at WICKHAMBROOK
« on: Tuesday 12 July 16 17:58 BST (UK)  »

Hi Jandy62. Thanks very much for this additional info. It's quite some time since I worked on this, so I had to look it all up again to get my bearings. I didn't know about the previous marriage; do you have any info about children, or her bur date?

The Edgley line is directly connected to my husband's Frost ancestry. Henry Edgley & Mary Welham are his 5xgt Grandparents, via their dau Lucy Edgley's mar to Robert Barber. Further down the line is Hannah Barber mar Robert Frost at Garboldisham - his 2xgt grandparents. So you must be distant relatives.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Mar of Robert BARBER & Lucy, poss at WICKHAMBROOK
« on: Friday 30 October 15 18:51 GMT (UK)  »
Could anyone help with details of a marriage, poss at Wickhambrook, of Robert BARBER & Lucy in 1774. They have several children bapt at Wickhambrook from 1776 to 1790.

A user submitted genealogy on FSearch gives the bride's name as Lucy EDGLEY and shows her parents as Henry Edgeley & Mary Welham, but the mar doesn't seem to be included under Search.

Any help appreciated.

Suffolk / Re: Robert FROST of Barningham
« on: Saturday 24 October 15 18:16 BST (UK)  »
Colin,

Many thanks, that's very useful and gives me several more clues to follow up.

Thomas's wife Mary (Filby) I had as probably dau of Isaac and Mildrid Filby, bapt 9 Feb 1771 at nearby Hepworth, so the marriage ties in with this.

It's a long while since I worked on these lines but I vaguely recall making the notes from a fiche copy of the original Barningham baptism register, many years ago now, at Bury Record Office. IIRC the images were faint and difficult to decipher over that section, which is why I'd marked it to recheck. I expect the old register pages were in a bad state.

Cheers,
Sue

Suffolk / Robert FROST of Barningham

Could anyone confirm a Barningham baptism please?
I have a note of a possible bap 25 Dec 1813 Robert, son of Thomas & Mary FROST (late Filby). Have I got the details correct? I think there were other children of the same couple bapt there too.
By 1841 Robert is still living in Barningham with Mary FROST, possibly his widowed mother, and a William Frost.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Henry COCKSEDGE mar at Euston, Sfk 1725
« on: Monday 20 April 15 02:11 BST (UK)  »
FSearch England Marriages, 1538–1973 shows an entry for the marriage of Henricus Cocksedge & Lydia Burgess on 12 Jul 1725 at Euston in Suffolk.

Does anyone have access to Euston records to confirm the wording of the register entry & whether any other detail is included?

Thanks,

Sue

Norfolk / Re: Banham - location of Hardwick Green?
« on: Wednesday 01 April 15 20:51 BST (UK)  »
The Hardwick near Pulham & Shelton is a separate village, some miles away.

There was indeed an area or road within Banham itself that used to be called Hardwick Green in centuries past, but I'm afraid I can't throw any light on which it is, I'd dearly like to know myself.
