I connect to the Cecils of Lower Dyffryn Grosmont, who are almost certainly a branch of the Allt yr Ynys family, via a William Howell who married Mary Rowland Cecil at Skenfrith in 1816. From baptismal records of their children I know William was a hoopshaver but I know nothing more about his ancestry. His daughter Sarah married (1) John Lawrence a stonemason from Monmouth and (2) Thomas Meredith a tyler and plasterer from Garway. I wonder whether William Howell connects to your Howells family?
