Hi
Are you still looking?
I'd be interested to know if you've had any success as the only Daniel I have been able to find is bapt Lichfield 15 Apr 1751 son of John ASH & Judith (formerly PIDDOCK nee DORRIN(G)TON.
I have been researching Chapman linkS through comnnections in/near Macclesfield and Longnor, STAFFS.  hANNAH chapman WAS THE DAUGHTER OF nATHANIEL
I have some information about Daniel's 2nd marriage (1792), death (1817) and Admin of his estate (1850 !)
daughter Hannah (aka Ann/Nancy) married Oliver Wright
& possibly also a son Nathaniel (who was witness to marriage to Oliver Wright)  but have only a burial 7 Jan 1806 age 24 Macclesfield

Let me know - am happy to share what info I have.

Maybe muddying the waters, but the will of Thomas Moses of Stanhope - 1730 is viewable as part of Durham University's archive at:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6X7S-JQ9?i=1&wc=9PQL-TZY%3A1078442178%3Fcc%3D2358715&cc=2358715

he mentions a brother Samuel Moses and family  "of Fentons in the parish of Hayton, Cumberland"

The index Durham University family records archive of Bishops Transcripts; marriage licences and pre-1858 wills/admin/probate is searchable on line at:

leading to online free access to images of the relevant record

It's been a while since this post - but I think this link will confirm for you your suspicions and hopes for the link to Robert & Jane Meggison:

You will find here the registered copy of the will of Jane Meggison (d. 1836 Bishop Middleham - buried 1836 Sedgefield)

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-67NW-SFD?mode=g&i=820&wc=SDF2-GP8%3A1310040701%3Fcc%3D2365059&cc=2365059

in it she mentions her daughters Jane Braidley and Ann Cummings; a son Oswald and his wife Mary; and a son George.

This link:

http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/

takes you to the extensive index of Family and Local History records at Durham University Library offering free of charge images from their vast collections of Bishops' Transcripts; Probate (pre-1858) certificates/bonds; Marriage Licences; Tithe records and Estates

I retract my concerns about swift marriage of Robert to Jane - I came across this marriage bond/licence application:

Marriage Bonds, Durham Diocese
Record Number: 425213.1
Religion: Anglican
25 Jun 1773 Robert Meggison (miller, widower), of Hardwick, Sedgefield obtained a licence to marry Jane Davison, age 25, of Sedgefield
Surety: John Robinson, parish clerk, of Sedgefield
[Note: married 26 Jun at Sedgefield]

Good hunting

I think you have made a wrong connection:

If you look at the will of Robert Meggison (died 1840 - you have your Robert's death 1792) at the web site link in my earlier post (it's free access and you are able to view images of the will) you will see that the beneficiaries are the sons and daughters of Ralph Meggison of Houghton Le Spring- giving their names and in the case of married girls - their husbands names; and the will of Ralph Meggison, butcher of Houghton Le Spring Will 1839 at the same site will confirm. Ralph Meggeson, butcher of Houghton Le Spring married Jane Bus(h)by on 31 Aug 1784  (Jane died between him writing the will in 1833 and adding a codicil in 1836)

Ralph & Jane's children:
Ann - bap 27 Dec 1787 -marr 26 May 1812 at Houghton to Thomas Wilson, butcher
Jane - bap 10 Apr 1792 - marr 30 Jan 1816 at Houghton to Thomas Bellerby, farmer
Dorothy - bap 27 Feb 1803 - marr 1 JUn 1824 at Houghton to George Watson
Ralph - bap 28 Apr  1786 - died 1850
Lively - bap 5 Apr 1790 - buried 19 Apr 1791
William - bap 4 Jan 1797
Mary - bap 6 Oct 1799 - marr 22 May 1821 at Houghtonto Isaac Moses
Hannah - bap 6 Apr 1795 - marr 27 Nov 1821 at Houghton to Anthony Anderson
there was also a Jane, bap 28 Apr 1786 but have been unable to find her death/burial (in view of their subsequent bapt of a Jane in 1792)

I don't think either is a match for your Sedgfield Ralph & Robert .

Ralph & Robert (of the wills) are sons of William Meggeson and Jane Harrison who married 12 May 1745 at Brancepeth (where their children were baptised).

=====================

It's not unheard of, but rare for a man quite recently widowed (Hannah burial 7 May 1773) to be remarried so soon - 26 June 1773;

However, a bit of brighter info for you.

Jane Meggison - who died 1836 of Bishop Middleham - buried Sedgefield -

http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/neisearch.php#x1836.Meggison.1

Jane MEGGISON, widow, of Bishop Middleham in the county of Durham [Bishop Middleham, County Durham]

Date of probate: 18 August 1836

    will, estate value £450, 26 October 1835 (DPR/I/1/1836/M4/1-2)
    registered copy of will, estate value £450, 26 October 1835 (DPR/I/2/46 p808-809)

The registered copy of the will is viewable at this link:

It's been a while since you posted this!!!

Hope this bit of information helps you.  Robert died in 1840 buried Houghton Le Spring on 23 Sep 1840 - aged 90  His will is viewable at this link

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6SSS-S8Y?mode=g&wc=9PQP-SYH%3A1078421505%3Fcc%3D2358715&cc=2358715

and lots of images of wills and bishops transcripts for Durham at this link:

Doesn't answer your question, but as he left all his estate to the children of his brother, Ralph and other nephews/nieces it certainly looks as if he had no children/grandchildren of his own - which might help if there were children from the marriage you mention...?

Good hunting

Devon Lookup Requests / Re: Plymouth Record Office Lookup Request
« on: Sunday 16 November 14 08:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Sorry I don't have any info for you, but wondering if you might have some for me...

I think it is this Rebecca who was witness to the marriage in Plympton on 8 July 1832 of my ancestors Thomas GILES and Ann ANDERSON. (Both listed as sojourners, but I know Thomas Giles was from Maker/Plymouth and was a cooper at the RN victualling yard)a nd they lived all their married life in Plymouth.

Do you have any info that might link Rebecca or Adrian to either my GILES or ANDERSON..?

Regards

Apologies for error & confusion above re Philip
"Information at this location suggests that son Philip - who according to IGI was born 2 May 1803, bap 1 Jun 1802 at Aylestone to John & Elizabeth Bloxam - is the son of this John. "

CORRECTION:
It's source:  http://genealogy .bloxamedia.com/bloxam/BloxamP_1803.php
that says birth 2 May 1803 (purporting to come from John Bloxam's bible

IGI states "Birth" (not Christening) as 1 Jun 1802
