Hi, Richard.  I have a Jean Burnet (my 6th great grandmother), born 13 Oct 1714 in Banchory, Kincardineshire, Scotland.  Also have quite a few ancestors from Montrose, but not Burnetts.

I am the 1st cousin 4x removed of Alexander Blacklaw(s) that you mention in your post.  Not sure if I can be of much assistance, but if your research narrows down to Blacklaws, let me know!
